Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Speaker Mudashiru Obasa is optimistic Nigeria will rise again He has thus pleaded with Nigerians to continue to remain hopeful that the country would bounce back from its current challenges in the nearest future. Speaking through his chief press secretary, Musbau Rasak, the speaker commended Nigerians for their patience in the last one year of President Muhammadu Buhari adding that the benefits of the long wait would soon become obvious. According to Obasa: “It is obvious that the country has suffered serious maladministration in the 16-year-rule of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and in correcting this, there is the need to put in place enduring structures that will assist in reviving the economy. “The past one year has seen the laying of solid foundation on which the resurrected economy will rest. Without this solid foundation, the economy will be groping in the dark.

Mudashiru Obasa is optimistic

“This is what the All Progressives Congress (APC) government at the centre has been doing and we will soon start to see the benefit.” He said the APC is committed to putting in place solid structures that would ensure that Nigerians enjoy the full dividends of democracy even at their doorsteps. While commending the Lagos State governor, Mr Akinwunmi  Ambode, who he said, has built on the solid foundation of his predecessors to put smiles on the face of residents of the state, Obasa added: “Lagos should be a role model for other states in the federation. “The state has been under the rule of the progressives for the past 16 years and the result has been that the state continues to grow in leaps and bounds.” Obasa seems to be in consonance with the national chairman of the APC, John Odigie-Oyegun, who urged Nigerians to keep their differences aside and work with the President Muhammadu Buhari for effective results. Oyegun said in a statement that Buhari worked hard to repair Nigeria’s previously tarnished image in the international community in the last one year. He also said the president restored the territorial integrity of the country by ensuring the containment of the erstwhile rampaging Boko Haram insurgency as well as fighting corruption.
