If there was any sport fit for a royal, and celebrities alike, tennis would definitely be up there.
Wimbledon is known for drawing an array of stars to its spectator seats and this year’s tournament proved no different.
As
each day passed, a new batch of famous faces were found scattered
amoung the Centre Court crowd – from music stars, to footballers, to
actresses and, of course, the actual royal family.
Here is a
collection of the best celebrities who showed their face at this year’s
Wimbledon Championships (no, we’ve not included the dreary politicians
and distant royalty).
Jose Mourinho witnessed his BFF Rafael Nadal getting knocked out of the men’s singles and looked as miserable as ever.

After
a weekend partying at Glastonbury, One Direction’s Niall Horan spent a
relaxing afternoon watching Novak Djokovic power through the first round
 of the men’s singles.

Game
of Thrones’ Kit Harington was joined by Liverpool’s Adam Lallana at
Centre Court, introducing what was possibly the most unexpected
friendship we could ever fathom.

Sir
John Hurt let his hair down at the WImbledon Championships, witnessing
the defeat of Britain’s own Heather Watson to Serena Williams.

 (Jonathan Brady/PA)
Gary
and Danielle Lineker looked as glam as ever as they enjoyed a bit of
SW19 action from the Royal Box during the third round of the tennis
tournament.

The Championships even managed to tempt Richard Branson, his mother Eve and daughter Holly away from his idyllic Caribbean island for a day at Centre Court.

Singer Ciara was just one of the music stars who turned up to watch Serena Williams dominate this year’s competition.

Ellie
Goulding kept her eye on Centre Court and, when the rain started to
fall, escaped to the comforts of the VIP area for a glass of champers.

The
Duke and Duchess of Cambridge made their highly anticipated appearance
to  check out Andy Murray’s victory against Vasek Pospisi.

 (Dominic Lipinski/PA)
Bear Grylls swapped the wilderness for the Royal Box with his wife for the men’s singles quarter-finals.

Tamsin
Egerton and Josh Hartnett stepped out for their first public appearance
since announcing her pregnancy with their first child.

 (Mike Egerton/PA)
Drake
could be spotted in the crowd of every single match his BFF Serena
Williams conquered, which happened to fall just after his stint at
Wireless Festival.

Pippa
and James Middleton made numerous trips to SW19 this year,  though
sadly sans sister Kate, rubbing shoulders with the likes of David
Beckham and Steven Fry instead.

David
Beckham treated his mother Sandra and son Romeo to a day in the Royal
Box to witness the defeat of Maria Sharapova in the ladies’ singles
semi-finals.

Footballing
legends Thierry Henry and Sir Alex Ferguson squeezed into the Royal Box
along with Henry’s partner, Andrea Rajacic, to watch as Andy Murray was
knocked out at the men’s singles semi-finals.

 (Adam Davy/PA)
Fashion
mogul Anna Wintour took a break from flicking through the pages of
Vogue to make a rare appearance with partner Shelby Bryan at Centre
Court.

 (Jonathan Brady/PA)
Sienna Miller oozed Hollywood glamour in a white jumpsuit for the ladies’ semi-finals alongside talent agent Ari Emanuel.

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar swung by Centre Court before getting stranded in Oxfordshire the very next day…

Having already sat in the crowd at the men’s single semi-final, Benedict Cumberbatch returned with his father for the final.

 (Mike Egerton/PA)
Bradley Cooper’s attempt to hide behind a pair of large shades fooled nobody in the Royal Box for Novak Djokovic’s victory.

 (Alastair Grant/AP/PA)
Yet
another Hollywood star filled a seat in centre court today, a dapper
Hugh Grant was perched just beside Benedict Cumberbatch.

And
a bespectacled Kate Winslet dressed down for the occasion and looked in
good spirits as she chatted away to actor Clive Owen.
